recycling waste piles up as prices collapse - plastic water bottle suppliers
Thousands of tons of garbage collected from household recycling bins may have to be stored in warehouses and former military bases to avoid being dumped after a price slump.
As the price is too low for the material to be transferred, there is less and less space for collecting companies and committees to store paper, plastic bottles and steel cans.
The collection of mixed plastics, mixed paper and steel reached a record level in the summer, but "the bottom of the market is down" and they are now worthless.
The price slump is due to a sudden drop in demand for recycled materials, especially recycled materials from China, as manufacturers have reduced production as the global economic downturn.
